=09=09       &n= bsp;    In mid-December, we got the bill from the co= nvention center, and we published that amount.  There were some incorrect charges in that bill and so= me disputes over that amount.  What was once $108,278.14 is now $75,670.37, a reduction of $32,607.77= =2E  This adjusting the bill= has also changed our payment date.

=09=09       &n= bsp;    There are always post-convention bills every= year, without exception.  = The major expense that drives this year’s convention center bill so= high is the union labor.  = It drove up the cost $33,684.06, almost half of the post-convention bills.=   Some of the other costs w= ere slightly elevated - rental equipment, set up labor, and electricity; b= ut it was the union labor that hurt us the most.

=09=09       &n= bsp;    Wherever we go, the host state has agreed to= pay for the facility fees and the post-convention costs.  This year that would be Indiana.  We did well on the facility fee, bu= t not so well on the post-convention bills.  Thank you to those 20 Indiana churches that contributed= to that.

=09=09       &n= bsp;    T= HANK YOU to the other 14 churches and 39 individuals that have responded t= o this appeal and who have given over $19,000.00 so far.  We also know of another $7,000 that has bee= n pledged!  We are over= $26,000 so far.   We= know it takes a little while for some folks and committees to meet and ma= ke some decisions too.  You= r gifts have truly been amazing, especially from so many individuals.  Thank you so much!

=09=09In t= he meantime, there is still a conference to run.  There are salaries and monthly bills to pay.  We do not want to have to dip in= to operating reserves to cover this bill. =09=09       &n= bsp;     It has been an interesting new year, I will say that much.  But our plans for Kansas City 2013 a= re

=09=09outs= tanding!  It is going to be= an incredible conference.  Make sure you mark these dates, Nov. 13-17, 2013.  ICOM is two weeks before Thanksgiving weekend.
